Things to Do in OKC
If you are coming to Oklahoma City for the 2027 SRSA Annual Meeting, it is worth leaving a little time to look around.
One of the more unusual stops is the American Banjo Museum in Bricktown. It covers the banjo’s history from its African roots through jazz, bluegrass, folk, and popular music, and it is the kind of place you probably will not find in many other conference cities.
The First Americans Museum is another strong option, especially if you want to spend some time learning more about the histories and contemporary experiences of Oklahoma’s 39 Tribal Nations. The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is also nearby and has major collections on Western art, history, and culture.
If you want something less traditional, Factory Obscura is an interactive art experience built around music and memory. And if early February lives up to its reputation, the Crystal Bridge Conservatory at Myriad Botanical Gardens offers a warm place to spend an hour downtown.
Oklahoma City has plenty to do beyond the meeting itself. Bring a coat, leave yourself a little extra time, and see some of the city while you are here.
