Thank the Greens

John and Eleanor Green have held almost every position in SRSA over the years. They held some of them for multiple terms. They even invented some positions that didn’t exist back when they first joined. Our Association might not even exist without their years of work and countless donations that kept it afloat during lean years. At our 2026 annual meeting in Louisville, as we hosted our largest meeting in many years and they passed the torch to a new generation of scholars, their years of dedication was on full display. As they rotate out of their numerous load-bearing roles and take on new adventures like expanding their farm, their years of mentorship (and at times tough love) will be felt across the South for decades to come. We hope to see them in attendance for the years to come. On behalf of the SRSA Executive Committee, we would like to express our deepest appreciation to Eleanor and John Green.
